Warning...this is gross

OK...I know the snot is gross but that is just where we are today. The flower is one that Jay got from Lowes during one of his free project days. It started off as just a baby seed and now it is a dwarf sunflower. He is very proud of it and I love having it in my kitchen window.

Good Morning!

Started off the day taking a picture of Jay with his new smile...he lost his 6th tooth last night! He lets them get so loose that they are hanging by a tiny thread. Emory got 4 inches cut off of her hair yesterday so she wanted some new beauty shots (she might watch too much ANTM). Packy, well I just like to take his picture.

Baseball Game

Do you think he looks like Jason? BTW, no one told him to turn his hat around backwards, he was just born knowing to do it. The first time my dad ever meet Jason he had his hat on backwards (not to mention an earring and a gold chain).

Great News for Baby Wil

His mom and dad got great news about him today...his cancer has shrunk. Yea! This little boy has my heart about as close as a child can that I didn't birth myself. (Does that sound more like me Chris?) He has been covered with so much prayer and prayers are being answered. Yea!

11 years Ago

Eleven years ago today I married my high-school sweetheart. He is still my sweetheart and had given me three precious baby sweets! (I totally copied this post from Leslie Gavin! She also married the guy she went to prom with.) First picture is our junior prom. Mom made my dress and made Jason a matching bow tie. The last picture was at the Tic Toc celebrating B's 30th bday (when Lee presented her with our JT tickets!!!).

Observations of 3rd Graders

First let me say that Betsy informed me that my blog was now PG instead of G.
Today I proctored a 3rd grade class at Jay's school for the CRCT. It was a little over 2 and a half hours with a class I had never met. I actually knew one kid and knew 2 kids parents. Third grade is very interesting. Here are my observations.
1. Some people are still babies and some are almost to puberty.
2.They all have giant feet.
3.They all like to read very thick books (Harry Potter style).
4.They really like their teacher even if they would not admit it.
5.When they have a break to stretch, they stretch like they are about to run a marathon. Deep knee bends and all.
6.When they have nothing else to do, a Kleenex, brought to them by the guest proctor, became an event.

On the way to Tybee we like to point landmarks out to the kids.
Well, really my mom does and we just do follow up.
So one time we were going across the bridge where you can first see the "Little Tybee Lighthouse" and I asked Jay what the name of it was, knowing that Mimi had told him at least 100 times. So he says it's called Copspur. I said no and Jason agreed that was not the name of it. Jay insisted that it was. We told him that the real name was Dickspur. We went back and forth and agreed we would ask Mimi when we got to Tybee. So we did. The name of the lighthouse is Cockspur. We were close.

Part 3

Just wanted to share a couple of songs we sing and see if anyone else sings these kinds of songs.
*When changing a diaper I sing "Shake, shake, shake....shake, shake, shake...shake your booty" and I make the baby dance by holding his legs up and making him shake his booty. This is done after the poo has been wiped of course.
*When bathing the babies I sing "I'm gonna wash your body...with my soap" which is sung to the tune of Rock your Body by Justin Timberlake. I think that Jay and Emory think this is a real song.
I'm sure there are more but these are the two I have sung the most to my kids.


I'm on a roll today.
Went to the gym and did an hour of cardio via treadmill, bike, and stairmaster. Good to sweat. Packy liked the gym nursery so that made it even better.

Stuff is happening in the birdhouse

Jason put down floors in the "long room" this weekend....all by himself...and it looks great. The picture is not good but if you know what they looked like before you get the idea. Now we just need some furniture. The kids LOVE having no chairs in there and lining up their chairs and playing train. See Packy peeking up? On a side note...I joined the gym. I never thought I would again but since they have free childcare and it was a reward for quitting my bad, unhealthy habit I could not turn it down. Now I just have to actually go. I woke up at 5 this morning and thought "I should just go now" but of course I rolled over and went back to sleep.

Evening Fun

Here are our after supper activities. Packy loved riding in the Gator, see the giant smile? Jay and Emory love having Daddy pull their arms out of socket. And everyone loves to swing.

Cherry Blossom Finale

This was taken by Cindy Hill for 13wmaz of the crew at the Cherry Blossom Finale at Wesleyan. The kids got to climb rock walls, go down bouncy slides and Jay and Haden went up in a hot air balloon with Pop! They were sticky and dirty when they got home and did not stop talking about how much fun they had until they shut their eyes to go to bed. Thanks Ceci and Pop! (Jason, Packy, and I were at Lowe's buying flooring while they were at the festival.)

Leveling the Long Room

What do you do when you have
a really long room that is covered in vinyl tile and is super unlevel? You call your friends over and lay 17 bags of cement on the floor of course. This was our project for the day. The next step is to lay laminate wood on top. I'll keep you updated with this never ending project.

My Other Kids

Betsy said my blog was very Packy-centric so here are some pictures from today of my other children known as Jay and Emory. The picture of Emory is the first outfit of the day...she has since put on about 6 more. She is really in to a Harajuko phase right now with her knee high socks and her Hello Kitty accessories. The really cool fort to watch TV in was made by Jason. A fort made by Dad is so much cooler that one you made by yourself! I snuck on them to take the picture because as soon as Jay saw the flash he hid...but not fast enough for Mama!

Sunny Days

It is officially spring around here.

I have put away all winter clothes (in Macon that means long sleeved shirts) and brought out all of the shorts, dresses, and bathing suits. I left Emory a white sweater in case of a cool morning. It is beautiful and warm. The cherry blossoms and the azaleas are kickin' bright pink everywhere. Macon is gorgeous right now. It is also covered in yellow pollen but I will take it for the days we are having. I am as far North as I ever care to live. I am not trying to rub it in to you who are up North...you'll have your day in August when it's 105 here and the kids go back to school but it is too hot for them to have recess.

Packy has been outside in a diaper playing with his favorite things-Bogey and ball. These pictures were taken after supper around 6:30 and it was still so nice! I am getting a taste of summer. I love to be outside and I love even more for my kids to be outside. Jay has been climbing trees, jumping on a trampoline at a friends house and just running. Emory picks flowers and plays in "Emory world" if she is not planning a show with her BFF Lola Grace.
