Riverdale Arts Festival

Today we walked one street over to the Riverdale Arts Festival. Live jazz music, food, and arts.
Jay and Emory got thier faces painted. Emory got more than I was bargaining for. Ceci tied a balloon to Packy's belt back loop and he chased it like a dog chasing his tail. Very funny.

Packy and Guitar Hero

Packy does not watch TV.
Not even Sesame Street or Baby Einstein.
But what he does watch is Jason play Guitar Hero.
Have you ever seen a cuter face?

Busted Up Pacs

This looks worse than it is.
Packy has a rash on his legs.
It does not hurt or itch but it looks bad.
Just look for yourself.

Gospel Sunday at Washington Park

After church we attended the Gospel Sunday at Washington Park. It was good fun. The children met new friends and explored the park while we listened to good, free music. Brad and Jason both had on church clothes that were way too hot for sitting outside so we didn't make it the entire time but it was fun while it lasted.

Weekend Fun

This weekend we watched the game at Brad and Keri's. It was really hot so Brad came up with a "misting" system that consisted of a hose going on top of his roof and a couple of fans to blow the "mist". It actually worked pretty good. The children played and ate popsicles.

Heartbroken

My New York children are gone and I am very sad.
I have gotten so used to them being here that it is going to feel lonely with only 3 kids instead of 5. (Wait...did I really just say that?) They are the sweetest girls and I love them like my own! Their mom is pretty great too. She really helped get my house (and life) together over the past few weeks. She really is the BEST sister anyone could ask for and I love her to pieces!
Miss you B, Hat, and Finny!

All of the Greats (except Gabby in DC)

My blogging is lacking due to my new Facebook addiction but these pictures had to go up. You know it's not easy to take pictures of your own family but try 7 children. Packy was literally taken out of the crib and brought outside so he was a little overwhelmed with "the scene". These are 7 of Nonnie and Papa's 8 great grandchildren. Gabby is in DC so she is the only one misssing. What a crew!

No Tears

Everyone had a great day at Alex II.
Emory said she "cried" a couple of times because she missed me.
I did not cry. I don't really worry about Emory.
She makes friends anywhere and everywhere.
When Jay started last year Jason cried.
Now when Packy starts 5K I will probably weep like a baby.
So speaking of my baby here is a picture of him having some Daddy time after supper.

First Day of School

First Day of 5k

First Day of 2nd Grade

We are very excited about the new year...now what will Packy and I do ALL day by OURSELVES? I'm sure we can figure something out.

Is this a joke?

School starts tomorrow.
Jay and Emory both have fevers.
Jay puked.
Jay always pukes when he has a fever so I am holding out hope.
Really? Today yall are going to be sick?
Miss the first day of school?
I don't know if I can handle this.

Lessons from Aunt Betsy

Jay: Betsy I have an impossible question. If a mom has two teenagers and a baby and has to take care of the house and cook and the dad has to work and play golf, who has the harder job?

Betsy: Well, the mom has the harder job. And the dad does not have to play golf he chooses to play golf. He has to work but not play golf.

Jay: Well sometimes my dad has to play if he's in a tournament.

Packy's Mean Face

This is Packy's mean face. He makes it before he starts throwing his food on the floor or if he is thinking about hitting you. Of course we think it is so cute and it's hard not to laugh. He tucks that little chin and those eyes say it all.
